Asan Ka Na? December 18, 2006
Posted by Mayee in : Daily Babble , 2commentsWhere are you Christmas
Why can’t I find you
Why have you gone away
Where is the laughter
You used to bring me
Why can’t I hear music playMy world is changing
I’m rearranging
Does that mean Christmas changes too
I really REALLY can’t feel Christmas this year. I dunno, maybe it’s because the excitement of the recent Eng’g Week has overcome any hint of Christmas spirit left in me. But it’s really no big deal, I have no special thing for Christmas anymore. Ever since I outgrew the tradition of waking up on Christmas morning with a smile on my face and that Christmas rush that drives me to get up and run to the Christmas tree to see what Santa left for me. Now it’s just.. a time to take a break from school. It’s sad, but that’s just the way it is. It’s one of those things I just accept, for the sake of not resorting to an even more dramatic self-pity fest.
Anyway, on a brighter note (and you wouldn’t think there was one), I’m almost done with my MP. And even though it’s more than a couple of days LATE (yet again), I will be so relieved to get this off my shoulders. I hate MPs. Haha. And that’s coming from a Computer Science student. You see I was supposed to watch Happy Feet with Joelle and Moe today, but because of my stupidity (I fridgin’ fell asleep!) I wasn’t able to finish my MP, and had to spend today doin it.
Hmm.. what else? Oh yeah, I wanted to rant about how weird it is that I am not pressured into christmas shopping by any early christmas parties. Surprisingly, the christmas party I thought we were going to have didn’t push through.. and I’m not complaining.. parties are just a waste when they’re not really that enjoyable and when you’re not with the people you want to spend the most time with.
So now I have to go back to doing my MP. konti na lang.
An advanced Merry Christmas to all of you. =P

I know that wasn’t our best.. but I know we tried very hard..

Car Stuffing 06 December 5, 2006
Posted by Mayee in : Daily Babble , 1 comment so farWOW. That is the only word that can best describe my first Car Stuffing experience. (Although not really because then I wouldn’t have this entry)
The Upsilon Sigma Phi Frat held their annual Car Stuffing this evening. The event was University wide where orgs from all over battle it out by fitting as many people as they can into a car.
It was just WOW. With all the people and all the buzzing and the sound of other orgs pepping themseves up. Nakaka-high! And it was funny because when our turn came and we were all stuffed inside the car, we were all in awkward positions and egad did I pity those in the front part, they came out of the car looking like they had the daylight beaten out of them.
So anyway, to make a long story short, we got 28 people to fit into an older-model HONDA CITY. (yep, 28 poor dears) And whatta experience.. FEET all over my face.. sweaty people.. suffocation.. still, it was fun. We ended up in 2nd place though, UP ICTUS got 1st place (yet again for several years in a row) with 29 people. We got 5k as 2nd prize and some goodies.. CURSOR SEXY!
Sana lahat ng new experiences ganito.
Trying Hard December 4, 2006
Posted by Mayee in : Daily Babble , add a commentI promised myself that I would do my best this sem.. Pambawi for last sem and the sems before that. And so here I am.. “studying” for my math exam. I still can’t find it in me to study HARD though. Someday I would graduate without having experienced what they call that life-changing turning point where you give everything up to fix your life. I’ve had so many this-is-it-last-na-ito points and yet I find myself back at square one each and every time.
But I do swear I am trying. I am. I do. Promise.
Anyway. I’m in the dorm now. Mom and Dad brought me here this evening (sunday) because I had a lot of stuff to bring and I couldn’t carry them all if I would just commute tomorrow (today..). Then even though I already had a cheeseburger (which we drove-through McDonalds Sucat for) for dinner, I still went out with Lucky, Che, and Eden for a bite. I had sisig at Ersao, then Ice Cream from some other stall there. Then we went back to the dorms. I put off studying til about quarter to midnight, and I am now suffering the consequence. I am cramming yet again. It has become my expertise. And yet here I am.. blogging. Pano ba naman, katapat ko laptop ko.
But that’s it. I just wanted to update, ‘tsall. So there. Good night.. er morning.

Review: Step Up December 2, 2006

It’s always enjoyable to watch movies about hiphop dance fused with traditional ballet and whatever else kind of dance, out-of-the-box kind of thing. “Step Up” really had nice moves. The storyline though was quite the usual - some dance school student risks her future career by mixing street/hiphop dance with the usual ballet.
Still, the dance moves in the movie made up for its so-so plot. Plus, Channing Tatum had to be the eye-melting consolation for all the movie-goers who went to see Step Up. He is definitely Eye Candy although I am not a fan myself.
So there ya go.. I give it a 2.75 out of 5. Not really a great movie but the dance moves are wicked.

Another natural calamity has struck the Philippine Islands. Typhoon Reming has ended hundreds of lives. I’m beginning to wonder if man and nature are at war over who kills more people. Why is this happening almost one after the other? It’s as if there’s no more peace even with mother nature.
The world’s a scary place now. Let’s all just escape to our own little happy place. Mine’s on my bedside table right now, waiting for me to wear it over my ears and drown me in a heaven of sound. Good night.
