Weekend August 26, 2007

This week has been one of the most physically and mentally exhausting weeks of my life. And yet this week chose to end with a blast. =)

From Monday to Friday (even for the most part of my Saturday) all I could worry about were the NUMEROUS super duper uber many things that I had to finish. They say you should know how to set your priorities right so that you don’t get tangled in time management problems. Well, sadly for once in my life I couldn’t, I repeat, COULDN’T sort out those freakin tasks. If I could put them all on top, I would have.

But… BUT! It just so happens that even for a few minutes of everyday, things always get a little more colorful and fun, and making the week worth finishing.

Here’s an Example: (While cramming for CS 14o MP @ around 10PM in Starbucks, Katipunan)

note: hindi sila nag-kape. haha. :P

But eventually we did get to finish our MP (the day after, 20 minutes right before the presentation). Thanks to a grande cafe mocha I was able to wrestle the rest of that night ’til we got some progress.

Then last night, after battling through traffic as quick as my mom could drive, and after spending the day finishing the AVPs, I got to ARUBA bar in Tomas Morato (my first time in the freakin area..wehehe). It was half-past nine already when I got there, and everyone had eaten dinner and were all watching Soapdish perform. It was fun. Though I only stayed for about 2 hours, I managed to down quite a number of shooters, and happily got others to down a few awful-sounding-God-forbid-I-mention-their-names shots too.  My favorite was the slammer.

I don’t have pictures from last night seein as I forgot to bring the digi cam. My phone’s cam would have been useless in the dark.  So, I’ll just have to steal some from Yen and whoever might upload pics (with moi in them..? haha).

I have a Machine Problem Algorithm Design due today (yes, as in ngayong SUNDAY, Lord knows why..). So now I want a coffee again. Starbucks, please. :P

Memorable, Unforgettable August 19, 2007

Last night, my friends, orgmates, councilmates, and family, joined me to celebrate my 18th birthday in a simple dinner party with a short program.

It wasn’t the most elaborate of occasions, but besides the presence of a good number of my highschool barkada who weren’t able to attend, I couldn’t have asked for more. Everyone really made a super special night for me.. I love you all, friends. =)

But I really really, REALLY had a blast last night. Thanks to all those who attended, and to all those who greeted. Special Thanks to those who were a part of the program (especially on such short notice), and most especially to my beloved emcees Joelle and Abet, ang galing niyo!.. It was fun. =)
Pictures shall be posted soon. Visit my multiply. =)

Pre-Birthday Post August 15, 2007

Well actually it’s past midnight so technically it’s my birthday. But I think I was born a few hours from now 18 years ago, so technically (again) it’s not my birthday yet.

It’s raining, hope our presenation at HP will be cancelled again, although I doubt it. Think that it being my birthday and all we would scrape an excellent grade? *closes eyes and blows-out 18 imaginary candles*

Thanks to those who’ve greeted in the few minutes that have passed since midnight. Luv ya all.. =)

Realization.. I can go to jail now. Wow, thanks Jeune for pointing that out. ;P

Oh, and on my way home, waiting for a tricycle at Southland, Mari Mar (the remake) was showing. Uber corny (Peace, Rivera fans!). ;p

Harry Potter 7 August 14, 2007

No, don’t worry, no spoilers here. Although I doubt many people would still be ignorant of the many..twists of the last book of the series.

Words escape me right now. I have just finished the last few pages of the book, and I am still in disbelief. Disbelief that this and that happened in the book. Disbelief that there won’t be any more Harry Potter books to look forward to. I’ve always enjoyed those days when they would release the new Harry Potter book. It’s always as if that day wasn’t meant to be normal. Like you’re meant to wake up early in the morning, have a good breakfast, and rush to the bookstore to get a fresh copy. Then when you’re finally clutching that thick hardbound book, still wrapped in plastic and still bearing that price sticker, it’s like your day can never ever go bad because a whole ‘nother world awaits right there in your hands.

[Oh and those long, long hours you spend pouring over those fresh pages, locked up in your room, anxious at what happens next.. those are just the best hours for escaping the unpleasant realities you have to go back to when you’re done reading.] or is that just me?

I used to count the days til the next book was released. Up until the last one of course, when I had become much busier than I had hoped to be. BUT ALAS! HARRY POTTER BOOKS WILL BE NO MORE! And that’s just a saaaad thought.

For a lack of anything to say at this point, I would just like to state that Harry Potter is indeed one of the best literary works, if not in its writing but in its creation and plot, to ever graze the planet in this day and age.

Ack. I still can’t believe he died though. Woops! =)

You know what I reckon?

I reckon I get a sudden burst of irrationality when I’m not doing anything. A sudden outburst of haste. Don’t know what I mean? Well, one time out of, well, sheer boredom and irrepressable need for change, I cut my hair. No, not “went to a parlor to have my hair cut” kind of cut my hair, I CUT my hair, with a pair of scissors, and a great deal of ignorance about the whole hair-styling biz.

The moment that first snip of hair landed on the floor, it was like time had slowed down, like in those movies where something drops and bounces on the floor with a slow but loud thud-thud. A long lock of hair, lost. It was like a bomb went off or something. Immediately my mind started searching for quick-fixes, but of course, to no avail. I could not, no matter how much I tried, put that lock of hair back where it was. So I just went on snipping until the damage could pass for a cheap trip to the nearby salon.

And now I’ve done it again, but this time without the pair of scissors in MY hand, and with an adequately large amount of money. Ack. So they did a pretty nice job on what I asked. But now seeing myself in this new look sort of makes me miss my old “jumpy” hair (as Jeune wouldso nicely put it). And now it’s just.. boring.

Sigh, haircuts. When will I ever learn?

I can’t wait til I have absolutely nothing I need to do, and I have even just a day to revisit old pleasures like just sitting down and reading a good book, or lying on my bed just staring at the ceiling.

But that time will never come, will it?

So I shall have to be happy with these brief 5-minute (or so) breaks I so insistenly impose during my “work” hours.

My birthday’s this Wednesday. I miss birthdays when I would wake up to my family around my bed, singing me a birthday song, with a (usually) large package, pleasantly-wrapped in colorful gift-wrap. And then I would go on with my day feeling like I was the happiest kid on the planet.

But that was then. And this is now. I dunno. It’s my 18th by the way.. I will no longer be a minor. That’s just.. great. Hope my party on Saturday would make up for a clearly unpleasant (not as pleasant as I would want it to be) Wednesday.

I, the Cheater August 4, 2007

Been busy.

But that’s not the reason I haven’t been blogging.

The real reason is, I can’t think straight. You know why? Becuase I, dear me together with a friend of mine, have been wrongly and unjustly accused of CHEATING. And it’s been eating, no, slowly nibbling and tearing at my brain! But I wont say any names here lest this little piece of writing be used against me in a trial.

And you know that saying they have in the ever beloved University of the Philippines, or any other school I might think.. cheating is enough grounds for expulsion.

Sigh.

Do open your eyes, dear accuser. (accuser? haha). That (itago natin sa pangalang PROJECT) PROJECT would not even be enough to save my grade if ever my standing would be failing. So why would I cheat on that? Why would my friend cheat on that? We are NOT that stupid. If in my life I WOULD (let’s just say) cheat on something, it would not be on an insignificant thing as that. Yes, insignificant, wag ka paimportante.

>:P
