Estoopid! February 23, 2008
Posted by Mayee in : Daily Babble , 5commentsWhat is the most embarrassing thing you’ve ever done in public?
Up until 8:00 tonight, I had no answer to that question. I would simply make something up or tell of the time my mom brought me with her on a business trip, and during meals kept putting food on my plate as if I were a 5-year-old kid (I was 17 at the time)
Then as if I were some messed up version of Cinderella, at 8:01 PM I transformed into a complete KLUTZ. Oh, dear goodness, I thank the stars that there is just a one-in-a-thousand chance I’ll ever see those people again. My poor, tattered ego can only take so much bruising. Rar.
But since this is my blog.. and since it’s funnier to share this experience, make it a punchline, instead of keeping it a vivid repeating nightmare (okay, I’m exaggerating), I shall share my humiliation along with my day’s experiences. You be the judge as to which part makes the cut for the Lifetime Carelessness Award.
THE TRIP HOME
It all began on my way home from Katipunan… (more…)
Strength-Based Development February 12, 2008
Posted by Mayee in : Daily Babble , add a commentPlay to your strengths. You don’t waste precious time on those areas of your life on which you have already deemed yourself inadequate. You develop those which are your strengths. To compensate for weaknesses, you distance yourself from circumstances in which you must depend on those skills. You surround yourself with people who compensate for your weaknesses, you learn their strengths, and help them realize and utilize those. That’s what makes you even stronger. That’s what makes you a good leader.
That’s what I learned today. And it beats the hell out of any classroom education I’d gotten for this week.
I’m glad for all my choices in the past few years. They have, in many ways, made me who I am right now, and it’s someone I can be proud of.
Although I could have been a little bit more grade-conscious. hehe
Never Failing February 11, 2008

I went to church this evening. It’s the first time in a long time that I attended Sunday Mass. My religious practice is under heavy internal debate. But that’s for another blog entry.
I leave you with this quote I got from the cover of a “Lions for Lambs” DVD.
If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything. - Malcom X
Incomprehension February 10, 2008

PEOPLE ARE STUPID.
This is a fact of life. If it weren’t, then we’d have no problems whatsoever in this society we call the human race. Still, there are some things that lie in the zone of Common Sense. If you’ve misplaced your common sense somehow then woe is you, my friend, woe is you.
PEOPLE ARE NOT BORN GOOD LIARS.
They perfect this skill through practice. I know one or two people who can say an entire story without even flinching. To them I say that you have mastered an art beyond moral limitations. You have successfully erased your conscience from your conscious being. I applaud you. (more…)

Don’t ask me how I can be bored at this time in the face of [extremely stupid] problems and academic hell. I just am. Haha.
