Bangkok Dangerous

4 out of 5.

The movie was great. It wasn’t jaw-dropping awesome, but the storyline was quite good, and I was really into each scene. Plus it wasn’t all gut-spilling (as other action movies are these days). There was a “human” factor in the movie. I liked that about it.

Warning, semi-slight-kinda spoilers ahead.

At first I didn’t like the ending. But then I got to thinking that if it ended any other way, it would’ve been one of them predictable movies again.

Again, Nicolas Cage was great as the lead. It’s hard to imagine other people doing his roles. He really is something else. The very few times he smiles in a movie make those scenes all the more precious. :)

Action scenes were good, nothing too outstanding. But they were a bit bloody. Body parts here and there. But then again, they’re just being realistic.

The love story.. well, that was a bit sad, but nevertheless sweet while it lasted. Amazingly though, this isn’t one movie where the girl gets involved in all the action and then they live happily ever after once the hero saves her… quite refreshing, as a matter of fact.

See for yourself. :)
